第三戰經過53分鐘激戰後騎士以3分之差險勝，詹姆斯賽後氣喘吁吁的接受訪問，昨日球隊練習時詹皇膝蓋綁著護帶在場外休息，今日上午8點半將與老鷹進行第四場交手，詹姆斯表示，我們的目標不僅於分區冠軍，而是奪得隊史第一座總冠軍。
騎士季前用選秀狀元威金斯換來洛夫，與詹姆斯、厄文組成三巨頭，但洛夫遲遲無法融入球隊，且在季末受傷提前報銷；厄文季後賽也飽受傷勢所擾，即便帶傷上陣也發揮不了應有實力，只能靠著詹姆斯獨木苦撐。也因為這樣詹姆斯的精神和體力在第三戰幾乎耗盡，騎士雖取得聽牌優勢，卻也變成隱憂。
今日有可能成為騎士相隔8年重返總冠軍賽之戰，詹姆斯說，當你渴望勝利的時候，就必須毫無保留的奮戰到最後一秒。
老鷹禁區大將荷福德在前役的惡性犯規面臨被禁賽命運，所幸，聯盟沒有「落井下石」追加處分。荷福德表示，「我會記取教訓，不會再讓情緒矇蔽雙眼。」
